    Puzzle Pirates Client Hack?

    Hey there,

Consider PP is in Java, like RuneScape, couldn't we reverse engineer the given jar files and modify our own client?

Thinking about it... Because this is just a 2D game... I guess this kind of enough wouldn't be needed.

Depends what you mean by "client hack"... you can't actually hack the puzzles, e.g. change the carpentry pieces to be whatever you want - because this is all verified server side and your puzzle will just get rejected

If you mean client hacking by running a bot inside the client (without using your mouse)... yes it's possible and very easy, I did it last year when I was messing around: https://bot-supply.com/forum/java/12...html#post86551

Any chance you could share this code? Or maybe explain how this was done? You said it was easy, but how could reverse engineering the client be "easy" lol?

It's easy compared to RuneScape which is heavily obfuscated and protected to dissuade people from trying to hack it. YPP has some pretty weak obfuscation in comparison, so following the flow of the program is far more straightforward.

I'm not at liberty to discuss anymore details beyond that.
